In 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping, at the Conference of Members of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that “Robots are the ‘jewel on the crown of manufacturing,’ and their R&D, manufacturing, and application are key indicators for measuring a country's level of technological innovation and advanced manufacturing capabilities.” President Xi also sent a congratulatory letter to the first World Robot Conference in 2015, emphasizing that “The world is currently at the intersection of a new technological and industrial revolution. Science and technology are continuously innovating through broad cross-disciplinary integration, particularly in fields such as information, life sciences, nanotechnology, and materials, which, based on systems integration innovation, are driving economic and social development with unprecedented force. With the ongoing integration of information technology and industrialization, the intelligent industry, represented by robotics technology, is thriving, which becomes a crucial symbol of technological innovation in today’s era.” These words laid out the direction for the development of robotics technology and industry, providing a fundamental guide for progress. In 2024, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council visited the World Robot Exhibition, emphasizing the need to “deeply understand the future trends and major opportunities in robotics development, vigorously promote technological innovation in robotics, and accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces, so as to shape new momentum and advantages for development, and continuously enhance people's well-being.” The World Robot Conference (WRC) 2025 will follow the guiding principles of President Xi's congratulatory message and Premier Li Qiang’s important instructions. The WRC 2025, co-hosted by the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) and the World Robot Cooperation Organization (WRCO), will continue to focus on “Artificial Intelligence + Robotics”, address cutting-edge technological trends, industrial development directions, application fields, standards system development, talent cultivation, and more, and promote both international and domestic cooperation in these fields. The WRC 2025 hopes to join hands with all stakeholders to create a robot-themed event that brings together global wisdom, fosters development opportunities, deepens industry exchanges and writes a new chapter in the future of the robotics industry.
